Purpose
The purpose of the Committee ensures that ACEC conducts a high-level Engineering Excellence Awards program; recognizes outstanding engineering achievements; and promotes the portrayal of these achievements to the public.
2024-25 Goals
- Continuously improve the EEA Competition by evaluating criteria entry requirements as part of the Committee's ongoing process. Publish new evaluation criteria in the applications asking the entrant to describe how the project directly benefits the community’s quality of life, public health, safety, and welfare.
- Collaborate with ACEC’s Communications and Advocacy teams to broaden recognition of the Engineering Excellence Awards through conventional and social media channels, promoting the EEA awards and infrastructure advocacy. These efforts will include promoting the EEA Road Shows.
- Consistently prioritize the cultivation of a diverse and esteemed panel of judges by actively recruiting and retaining the necessary number of judges for each competition.
- Maintaining collaborative efforts with ACEC Staff to boost attendance and secure sponsorship backing for the Gala event.
- Persist in assessing the judging process to identify opportunities for enhancing the efficiency and satisfaction of participating judges, ensuring a consistently smooth and gratifying experience.
- Foster greater regional representation and participation in the EEA program by collaborating with ACEC chapters and regional engineering associations to encourage submissions and involvement from diverse geographic areas.
