About ACEC’s Member-Driven Committees
ACEC's committees are the primary means of carrying out functions that advance the Council's strategic plan and organizational mission. Committees undertake a wide range of activities, including recommending legislation and regulations to promote and protect the engineering industry; providing essential information on engineering business issues; reviewing and recommending business products and services that benefit member firms; and overseeing the performance of ACEC programs.
ACEC’s committees are either “open” or “appointed.” Open committees are generally market-related, and any employee of a firm in any category of National ACEC membership may join an open committee at any time of year.

Committee Type
ACEC PAC Champions Committee
ACEC’s Political Action Committee (PAC) Champions, under the rules of the Federal Election Commission (FEC), oversee the recruitment of ACEC/PAC supporters in their state Member Organizations to support federal Congressional candidates.
ACEC-AASHTO Joint Committee
The ACEC-AASHTO Joint Committee is tasked with issues that intersect with both organizations. It is open to all ACEC members.
Affiliate Advisory Committee
The purpose of this Appointed Committee is to grow the Affiliate membership and provide a voice to Affiliate Members in the development of programs and opportunities to engage with the ACEC firm membership.
Budget Committee
The purpose of the Committee, which is constituted every three years, is to produce a proposed three-year ACEC budget for consideration by the Board of Directors.
Business Resources and Education Committee
The purpose of this Open Committee is to assist ACEC in identifying and planning educational programs for our members.
Committee of Past Chairs
The purpose of the Committee of Past Chairs is to inspire the next generation of ACEC leaders, provide continuity to the organization by giving historical context for issues, and support the current Chair in his/her role.
Contract Documents Committee
The purpose of this Open Committee is to create, revise and promote the use of standard contract documents, especially EJCDC documents for use by ACEC members and the AEC industry.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee
The purpose of the committee is to work to ensure that ACEC is a welcoming organization where all members are included, involved, and have the opportunity to pursue key roles in the life of the Council.
